Dr. Jarod Burton is a sports rehab detective who uses principles of applied kinesiology and functional neurology to solve complex athletic injury cases.
Dr. Burton was a collegiate baseball player at Cornerstone University while earning his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. During his time there he conducted independent sports research focused on injury prevention in overhead athletes. His work examined limitations in traditional rehabilitation methods and explored how training must meet or exceed the demands of the sport. This research was later presented at multiple American College of Sports Medicine conferences.
After graduating, Dr. Burton served as Head Sports Performance Coach at a baseball training facility in Missouri. There he worked with developing athletes and those returning from injury. This experience led him to pursue chiropractic training at Texas Chiropractic College, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
A pivotal phase in Dr. Burton's professional development was his internship with Dr. Gail Henry in Houston, Texas. During this time he worked with patients across all age groups experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions including Parkinson's disease, stroke, dystonias, seizures, migraines and headaches, Arnold-Chiari malformation, and autism. This experience expanded his clinical perspective and strengthened his understanding of the nervous system's role in rehabilitation and performance. It also inspired Dr. Burton to pursue post-doctorate training in functional neurology, and he is currently enrolled through the Carrick Institute as he works toward his Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB).
Dr. Burton enjoys working with complex cases including concussion rehabilitation and high-pressure sports situations where athletes have a limited window to recover before competition. He is also known for traveling rehab sessions where full-body neurological resets are used to rapidly restore movement and athletic performance.
This same work with athletes has led Dr. Burton to focus heavily on education. He teaches sports performance coaches how to apply practical neurology principles within their training environments and integrate the Volta X to support athlete recovery and performance. Through online courses and live seminars, he teaches coaches how to better understand the nervous system, biomechanics, and training methods that help restore movement and improve athletic performance.
